My last post, I described the relationship between John Chance and his kids, Rich and Jade. Now, I am going to specifically describe Rich and Jade through my perspective.
Rich Chance is your average run-of-the-mill kid (Besides his job as a spy with his dad and sister for the government). He loves video games watch TV, and eat and drink junk food and soda; basically everything a teen boy does.
Jade Chance is basically the opposite. She likes to run everyday, drink only water, and is a vegetarian (Lindsey, you can relate! LOL); but both of them have two things in common: They're headstrong (and are not afraid to speak their minds), and they love to help their dad with his missions when they can.
I believe the author used these characteristics to make the kids more realistic. Rather than have them be some super-spy kids, he portrays them as everyday kids, with everyday characteristics, but with a secret, dangerous job, and a very skilled, strong, and secretive dad.
i really like how you showed your perspective and this goes to the rubric very well so i have nothing really to add though Mrs.Ilaqua might, i think you should explain more on the father next time then the week after do some other characters not just the main ones but supporting ones too.
ReplyDeleteI dont like science fiction novels. The characters are always SO fake, and able to do things that people would never even think of doing!
ReplyDeleteI think that when an author can make "superficial" characters act, talk and think like normal people, it is the signs of a good writer! Who wrote the book your'e reading?
Thanks Stephen, thats exactly what i was going to do next lol... mind reader :P Yeah Lindsey, same! They are so boring and too un-real, lol... The book's author is Jack Higgins. He writes mysteries and thrillers mostly. Alot of his books are aimed for teens though, which makes it cool. But this series is really the only ones i've read by him though.. but i would really like to read more his books someday. :D thanks all again!
ReplyDeleteAnd hey! Don't tease my vegetarianism!!!!!!!
